Rescue Dog Happiness (Video)

Today, July 23, bloggers around the world are participating in Bloggers Unite for Dog Rescue, an initiative started by Be the Change for Animals to raise awareness on the importance of pet adoption. According to the Humane Society of the United States, “Nationwide, only about 20 percent of dogs in homes come from shelters—the rest come from other sources. It would only take a relatively small increase in the adoption rate along with a modest reduction in the birth rate to go a long way toward solving the problem of euthanizing healthy and treatable dogs in many communities.”

What you can do to help:

  • Adopt a companion
  • Donate to a local dog rescue organization or shelter
  • Foster a homeless pet
  • Volunteer at a local shelter or rescue organization

When I came across this video on Life with Dogs, it brought a huge smile to my face. No fancy tricks here, just a rescue dog expressing his love of life and all the things that bring him joy. I’m quite certain it will brighten your day as well. Enjoy!

Have you adopted from a shelter or rescue? Thanks for posting a comment and sharing a story of how your rescue dog has brought a smile to your face and made you feel good.

Just a thought, should we allow breeding of humans in the same way of dogs or cats? If not, why shall breeders be allowed to force animals to give birth on and on just to win competitions following a race standard?

If you get a shelter animal you have an enormous range to choose from - because there are so many poor creatures abandoned. If you buy a 'bred' pet, you take a home away from a shelter pet. Have a heart, always adopt from a shelter.
