Last week I wrote about a Through a Dog’s Ear word game in which competitors were vying to win donated copies of Music to Calm your Canine Companion for their favorite shelter or rescue. It was deeply satisfying to experience the excitement of so many pet lovers wanting to help their favorite shelter or rescue. In most cases, the entrants either did rescue or shelter volunteer work and/or they adopted their pet from the rescue/shelter they were trying to help.
When I came across this video on Life with Dogs, it brought a huge smile to my face. No fancy tricks here, just a rescue dog expressing his love of life and all the things that bring him joy. I’m quite certain it will bring a smile to your face as well. Enjoy!
Have you adopted from a shelter or rescue? Thanks for posting a comment and sharing a story of how your rescue dog has brought a smile to your face and made you feel good.

+ add your ownsuch a cute video... i had to chuckle because this dog reminded me so much of our new rescue dog.. it was basically like watching a video of her with the exception that she's a fifty lb pit bull mix...she burrows underneath the blankets and makes a little cave for herself, she looks out the bay window standing on the window sill with the back two paws on the couch, between the digging, ripping out the stuffing of every toy, the sticks, the ball chasing, it felt so close to home :)
GREAT video---so sweet !!! Am going to share on Facebook. Loved it--thank you so much !
So wonderful to have kind compassionate rescuers - having just watched the video of the horrendous puppy mill to the video of the free spirited and sweet little rescue dog with a huge personality - I wish the world was like the latter one. He looks a lot like my rescue but mine has one eye and an underbite which makes him look more sinister but cute nonetheless.
They are very special. I know because mine is!

My favorite shelter is ANY SHELTER that is a NO KILL shelter. There is NO SUCH THING as a "SHELTER" that also kills animals.
Thank you
what a sweet little doggie! rescues are the absolute BESTEST animals! ever grateful for their second chance, even tho the first time around should of been their forever home - NO BAD DOGS, ONLY BAD, IGNORANT PEOPLE!
:-))
Love the vid! EVERY dog we've had has been a rescue...Sachi, Kuma, Suki, Neo, Miko and Murph! All some of the best dogs ever! No regrets and so glad to be part of the solution instead of the problem of overpopulation of pets. My wish for the New Year is that everyone will give a homeless pet a forever home. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! Compassion is the fashion...ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!
thanks
