By Erica Sofrina, Author of the book Small Changes, Dynamic Results! Feng Shui for the Western World.
As the Holidays approach often our sadness around broken relationships of family and friends becomes more prominent. This is the time for us to be gathering with loved ones and we feel their absence the most during this time. As the media prominently features happy gatherings of friends and family, we become even more depressed. If we are alone, these ‘happy’ faux families emphasize our feelings of loneliness even more.
If your relationships with specific friends and family members are not as wonderful as you would like, or if you have no friends or family around and would like to attract more, Feng Shui teaches that we an strengthen the energy center of our home that is directly connected to friends and family and thereby shift this in our lives in a positive direction.
The ancient Feng Shui masters felt there were certain parts of the home that corresponded to key areas of the lives of its occupants. By working with these energy centers you could A- identify what was going on in that area of your life, and B- enhance it by putting objects there that would encourage the chi (energy) to become activated.

Happy new year to you and your family!
this really does work
Thank you all and I hope your Holidays are happy and filled with good times with friends and family!
Thank you for these great tips. I'm going to put it into practice over the Christmas break - I have a space on the wall right in this section which I was thinking of filling, now I know what I will fill it with. :) It's in our bedroom, so I'll leave out the plants, but we have a hardwood floor and wooden furniture, so there is a lot of wood in there already. :)
Have a wonderful holiday season Erica, and thank you for all the great tips, information and inspiration you've given us this year.
thanks
The step-by-step is very helpful. Thank you so much.

you mentioned "Write affirmations about your ideal relationship with this friend or family member. Affirmations should always be with gratitude, in present tense as if they are true now."
to boost that even more adding "this God or something better" to the written affirmation may help as then God gets to offer even better a end result. Just my opinion right or wrong.
Wonderful article!
Thanks for the article.
