First of all, they were not allowed to take their pets with them when they were being evacuated, how terribly sad for them....

I think they should have taken their pets with them so they wouldn't have died.

Very heartbreaking that pets are also victims of natural / unnatural disasters.

This is another example of government building a potentially dangerous site without making sure they have adequate evacuation plans in place if something should go wrong. It isn't like Japan is a region free of earthquakes and tsunamis. Nothing should be built in Japan without proper evacuation plans in place that includes humans and animals. The same goes for any project anywhere in the industrialized world for that matter. No where is disaster free and governments need to bear that in mind when allowing new building projects.

Very touching, but understandable; sometimes in some conditions you have to decide to help a person or to help a pet and of course you know the result, not all times there is help aviable to carry with pets; sometimes is a matter of space, other is to many wounded people; so the result is the lost of the family pets, that are mourn like another family member.

This must make their losses even greater. My heart goes out to all who have lost pets and to the poor lost pets.

It is painful to watch and realise what they have lost and how they've suffered!!... May they all be re-united with their pets soon...
