Fun Eco-Friendly Holiday Projects

During the holiday season I like to take at least half a day off to put on my slippers, listen to some of my favorite music, and spend time by myself or with my family making something fun and eco-friendly, such as fabric gift bags or other holiday projects such as these.
If your kids are home from school and looking for something fun to do, give some of these ideas a try:
Native American corn necklaces
Holiday gift bags and Wrapping Paper

Small items or candy for stuffing.
Cut the cardboard rolls into 2"-4" lengths.
Cut the covering material large enough to encase the cut tube lengths plus enough to gather and tie at the top. The covering material may be colored or printed in specific holiday colors or theme.
Cut the tieing material in lengths of 6" to 12". The tieing material may be coordinated to the holiday colors.
Place a tube section in the middle of a piece of covering material. Place the goodie or candy into the tube.
Gather the covering material up encasing the filled tube. Gather the ends in the center of the top and tie with the tieing material; optionally rubberband instead or, rubberband first and then use tieing material as decor.
Optionally, use decorate the body of the tube with holiday specific stickers, cut-outs, or other items using glue or a glue gun.
This can be used for virtually any holiday or themed event by varrying the outter materials used. It can be used as in a variety of ways from wrapping an expensive present to being a party favor with a only a few pieces of inexpensive candy. It is pretty open ended.
