NOTE: Watch “The Happiness Prescription” tonight on KQED at 7:30pm. Check local listings for showtimes.

Understanding Buddha’s teachings and relating them to a contemporary understanding of consciousness helps us to see and deal with the hidden dimensions of our lives.

Deepak Chopra, acknowledged as one of the world’s leaders in the field of mind-body medicine, builds upon these principals to deliver the KQED broadcast of “The Happiness Prescription,” 10 keys to a happy and fulfilling life, for anyone, of any religious or spiritual leaning.

Utilizing his understanding of Buddha’s teachings and relating them to a contemporary understanding of consciousness, Chopra takes his audience on an inspirational journey beginning with the Buddha’s Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path to Enlightenment.

The result is a prescription for living life mindfully, joyfully and with effortless spontaneity—a prescription that only Deepak Chopra can write.

focus on yourself that the out side world. Happiness comes within oneself. Do not look on people above you. Be happy with what you do best. Do not be jelous. Appreciate others when they do good.

Thank you all for participating in this robust discussion. We love it when members
participate. We wrote the article because we thought you'd be interested in Deepak's public television special on happiness. Our apologies if the article seemed like an ad! We meant it as an offering of helpful info. We'll take your comments into consideration as plan future articles. And, we are sorry that we didn't consider those of you in other countries than the U.S. On our worst days yes, we can be myopic. Sorry!

PLEASE! I have re-read a few comments about this since I intially posted... a few disturb me that such anger and suffering would be expressed upon others in an article about HAPPINESS.

REalize this:

We all want to be happy, and some choose specifically to specialize in the way they go about reaching this. To yell, cause pain, and cast doubt upon Other's good intentions is not to help the World, but to change views upon something that should remain pure and innocent.

Keep Love in your Heart, for without Love in your heart, It is hard to feel my own Heart... We Are One, and anything You do, affects Me, in one way or another.

May Peace disover its place within You, and I apologize for the burst of emotion expressed above.

Take it easy! =)

About Larry Kegel's comment, I understand what you're saying, but if I came upon a clearcut forest, I couldn't sit there, I would need to plant a tree.
