Interesting article, tho it seems to be an advertizement for the electric composter...We have a pile in the back yard. Don't water, don't always match up the green and brown, but have awesome compost for my plants.

I bought a Nature mill compost machine, but I don't recommend it if you have an apartment- it is SO SO noisy. If you can put it outside on a terrace you'll be fine, and the compost is very easy to make. Don't put anything hard, like stems, shells or bones into it, or else it will BREAK down, like mine did. Now I do window box composting, which is not ideal, but works if you don't put meat products and respect the green/brown balance. Even my neighbour, who has a terrace but does not compost (!!!) comes to me to ask for compost :-)

I love to compost my scraps. Save them throughout the day and add them to the tumbling composter at night.
