How to Spot & Prevent Animal Abuse (Infographic)

One million animals are abused or killed each year during domestic violence in the U.S. alone. This estimate is only what is reported, and does not include the many of the abused exotic pets and livestock, or the 6 to 8 million lost and abandoned dogs and cats that enter shelters annually. Take a look at the facts on animal abuse, and how you can help prevent needless animal suffering.

Great article, if I see an animal being abused I always ring the RSPCA and let them deal with the culprit.

As for those who believe ,"to each his own." it absolutely ends when you involve another living being (like a dog or sheep or other farm animal -or child! and convince yourself that they are enjoying themselves so "no harm done." You're deluded. And criminally reprehensible.

I read of the case of the transplanted engineer from Tennessee or Arkansas who moved to rural Washington and had a torrid love affair with a male horse that ended in his death. He couldn't even tell his estranged wife that some cute little filly caught his eye. Nope-it was the stud next door that did him in.

Janice-are you saying Indians practice bestiality? Really?

5:51PM PDT on Apr 19, 2015

Unfortunately, there are still a multiple count of states that still allow zoosexuality(bestiality) to remain lawful without consequence. These states are: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming.

The ultimate goal is to outlaw bestiality in the United States by state, as well as federally. Petition your local governor or member of congress to support the banning of such acts.

South Dakota is a state filed with Indians. The white man put them there. They are governed by their laws, not ours.

I am a big crybaby when I hear of an animal being abused. If I saw it happening, I would say something to the person, or report it to the police in a nanosecond. I even hate it when they whip the horses at a racetrack to make them run!!
I wish all animal shelters could keep all the animals until they are adopted instead of euthanizing them!! That breaks my heart.
We have 5 full grown cats and 1 kitten. All the cats are spayed or neutered. The kitten will be spayed when she is old enough! She won't like that, but she will get over it (LOL)!!

I guess if anything good came from Vick is that it pushed authorities into investigating the fighting. Those numbers are horrifying and South Dakota must push for felony charges for cruelty.
