Is Argan Oil Miraculous?

It is Berber women who are solely responsible for harvesting the nuts and producing the oil, and they are doing so in fair trade working cooperatives. Outside groups, like the government of Monaco, are also financially backing a system whereby women can work half days (so they can still tend to their families) in exchange for fair wages and good working conditions. This has allowed an income for women and families where before there was little.

The cooperatives have initiated an ecosystem reforestation project to help preserve the argan forest. The cooperatives are working in partnership with the Moroccan Water and Forests Authorities to allow optimal tree growth, plant argan nurseries, and create education programs. The community realizes the value of the argan tree and they are involved with its protection. In fact, Unesco has designated the 10,000-square-mile argan-growing region as a biosphere reserve.

Even without the beauty claims I think I’d be clamoring for argan oil in support of the cooperatives — but as it turns out I think I am beginning to believe the hype. I first tried products featuring argan oil when I tried the Aveda Green Science line — but as much as I love the Aveda products, it was hard to tell what the argan oil was like since it is just one ingredient of many.

More recently I have tried pure argan oil from a company called Eden, and boy oh boy is it something else. I have always been a huge fan of using jojoba oil on my skin, and this is even better. It is lustrous and rich, but very quickly absorbed. Now I suppose I’ll have to try it for a few weeks before I notice a difference, but at this point an improvement feels inevitable.

Now here’s the rub— the cost of pure argan oil isn’t cheap — not like olive oil, for example. But a little bit goes a long way — it is no more expensive than many high-end moisturizers, and it earns terrific marks in terms of sustainability and supporting women’s rights. Only time will tell if it honestly does perform any miracles for my skin, but I know for sure it is doing a world of good for the numerous women who now have a livelihood from it. Miracle enough for me.

You can find pure argan oil at EdenAllure.com.

I've tried lots of argan oils in the market and the biggest thing to look out for (in my opinion) is to make sure that it's pure argan oil... I've tried a few niche brands lately and one that I really like is E-voss argan oil. Relatively cheap, and has vitamin b5 in it. Going to try a few others as well.

Argan oil is generally really good for dry and brittle hair..

I used to use Argan hair oil but I switched to the Shielo shine restoration oil - its is a type of amazon oil which I heard about on TV. The Shielo hair oil is nothing short of amazing. I'm a product junkie with thick/frizzy hair, and have NEVER experienced a hair product like this before. I have tried this formula both ways: on wet and on dry hair. Using it on dry hair gives it a bit of a shine...and even a little body.

oops Mistake, should read: I hope that demand does not become unsustainable as fake blends will become predominant.

This oil is very good i just hope that demand becomes unsustainable and fake oils/blends become predominant. I find it very good on my damaged skin. Maybe this tree should be grown in other locations of the planet to sustain it. Maybe it was this tree from which the story of Jason and the Argonauts originated from.

@ Caralien S. i love what u,re sayin its not everyone who can afford to buy the expensive brands of argan oil. Some sell diluted argan oil n some so called big companies sell argan oil mixed with other oils and label them as Argan oil.Im so happi i came across a seller on facebook who sells her oil at affordable price and i was contemplating wheter to buy frm her bcos her page was such a simple one and nothing more so i was thinking that maybe she was selling the diluted one.I was curious so i ordered 30 ml just to give it a try n oh my gosh it was worth buying it.The oil is 100% virgin and smell very slightly of nuts — an illusive, sweetish, ‘peanut’ scent i really love this naturall smell and it disappears after a minute or so after applying to the our skin or hair. The oil absorbs so easily. a I dnt knw why people prefer the deodorised one i love this natural smell because its not such a strong smell n it disappears very fast. This oil has done a great job on hair ,skin n has help my son,s eczema a lot.i cnt wait to be the first person leave a comment on her website when its done. Some times its not all affordable stuffs they r not original there some genuine ones among them same as expensive products some are costly but they r nt good but bcos of its fames.I LOVE PURE Organic Argan oil.You can check the lady on facebook Purest Argan
