As a book writer, I am almost always surrounded by books. And, not just my own. Stacks of just about every other health author’s books, recipe books, and many others. My many bookshelves are bursting at the seams! So, today I decided to sort through them and take all the books that I don’t need or use to my local community library.
I understand that many libraries have ever-diminishing budgets to purchase books. Yet, they are such a great resource for so many people and communities. It’s so easy to take our local libraries for granted. I encourage you to give your local library or school library any books that are in good condition (none of the ones that really need to hit the recycling bins). Be sure to call them first to make sure they want them and can deal with the number you’re planning on sharing.
For those of you who have just started reading the Kindness Revolution series, I’m giving away 29 gifts in 29 days, inspired by the book 29 Gifts. And I’m asking all my great Care2.com readers to join me in creating a Kindness Revolution by doing the same.
To continue the spirit of giving, make sure you add your comments to my blog over the next four weeks because, with the help of the kind people at Care2.com, I’ll giving away free copies of my books! Winners will be selected from the comments!

Tried to give some brand new books to my library today, only to be told by a (rather snooty) Librarian 'No thanks, we've already got them'. Guess you just can't help some people! I thought the whole idea of a library was to have more then one copy of the same book so more than one person at a time could borrow it?!
I've given nice books to our library for years. If they don't keep them, they sell them at a monthly sale for very cheap prices.

Book are the one thing I find it hard to give up. I remember the time I've spent with them and they feel like a sort of chronicle. I try to be generous with everything else!
I did not donate to the library, as they don't accept book donations, but I did donate to various charity shops...some for people and some for animals.
yes...that is the best way to share good vibrations without getting in touch with others...
I've done that in the past and it always fels so awesome to think I'm spreading the knowledge and glory of the printed word. I've also donated music CD's and other items. Thanks.
Love giving books to the library. Why be greedy and try to sell them? Our local library could always use more.
