Living from the Level of the Soul

If we could learn to live from the level of the soul, we would see that the best, most luminous part of ourselves is connected to all the rhythms of the universe. We would truly know ourselves as the miracle-makers we are capable of being.
We would lose fear, and longing, and hatred, and anxiety, and hesitation. Living form the level of the soul means diving past the ego, past the limitations of the mind that harness us to events and outcomes in the physical world.
In the vastness of the ocean there is no individual “I” clamoring for attention. There are waves and eddies and tides, but it is all, in the end, ocean. We are all patterns of nonlocality pretending to be people. In the end, it is all spirit.
And yet, we feel quite individual, don’t we? Our senses reassure us that these bodies are real, and we think our own very personal, individual thoughts. We learn, fall in love, have children, and work at our own careers. How is it that we do not feel this vast ocean churning inside us? Why do our lives feel so circumscribed? It all comes back to the three levels of existence.
At the physical level, what we call the real world, the soul is the observer in the midst of the observation. What about our thoughts? Our thoughts are recycled information. Emotions are just recycled energy. Emotions do not originate with us. They come and go depending on situations, circumstances, relationships, and events.
Whatever else we are, no matter how much of a mess we may have made of our lives, it is always possible to tap into the part of the soul that is universal, the infinite field of pure potential, and change the course of our destiny.

add your comment »The body and all of our identities up the vibrational ladder all the way to the source, the ALL THAT IS , are flowers of spirit, putting out forms into different realities simultaneously to master sets of awarenesses. We do not possess soul because we are emanations of it. All of life has awareness of self, from atoms to sub-atomic particles, all emanations of deity self aware and blissful in that awareness. The fly on the ceiling is as much a conscious emanation of Godhood as any other creature.Creature means part of creation. God is extant throughout it's creation, the universe timeless and utterly interconnected, all reality being now no place for anything but God. That's why it's called the ALL THAT IS. Sequential reality, time, is a human phenomena based on our capacity for abstract thought, in the reality of the universe the "BIG BANG" is occurring in this very eternal moment. In this dance of life all awarenesses are exploring their boundaries and as the capacity for projecting that awareness extends finding that the boundaries only exist for personal comfort and are illusional. In it's infinite creativity the "All That Is" is infinitely diverse yet all that is exists on all levels of it's vibratory frequency to the source. If I kill that fly in the kitchen I cause it to change form, the energy and it's material form, also energy vibrating at different rates, separate and re- group forming different combinations of consciousness and form. Awareness is indestructible.

All the comments posted here are deep and beautiful. I so appreciate knowing that there are incarnations of souls out there in this world that spend time reflecting on these matters. My deepest thought recently on this subject aligns with another comment made in this discussion around the depth of discord between the cultural landscape our body/minds occupy and a spiritually conscious life. The distance between the values promoted by corporate capitalism and the values of a self-conscious, spiritual life grows regularly. The confrontation between these two value systems can be very awkward and painful at times. For example, as someone who faces a confusing chronic health issue in her life, confronting the crude, morally corrupt and sometimes violent hand of the medical industry creates an edifice of fear in my life that I've had to navigate. The unwillingness of the majority of our cultural landscape to affirm these kinds of beliefs makes personifying them very, very difficult. Are these concepts just interesting ideas or can they penetrate and impact lives beyond an email chat?

It is very important that we take a look at what's going although it is really hard when you are in the midst of a situation that seems to drown you in that very ocean. It is hard when the woman you love doesn't love you back and basically treats you as like "whatever" after I have been so good to her. I am trying to see the big picture here, but it is really difficult because it hurts so much. Emotions are triggeres by situations, but when they hit, it can seem like a huge earhtquake that won't stop shaking.

All wonderful comments of what one believes, however the question I ask is, who or what do you suppose keeps everything together ?
Life is a wonderful opportunity, let us not ignore her anymore. Think about this and maybe you will notice, what you never knew before.
Life is what we ALL are, honor the body yes, the mind as well, but falling in love with Life ,makes Life with Love, even more Lovely.

Yes I support Brian's post.
Of course, we as spiritually developing beings are trying to find the best balance for healthy and sustainable growth for ourselves and our families. However we are living in societies which exploit at every opportunity possible causing consern and angst to the vunerable members of our world. How can we just sit back and contemplate quamtum logic when basic needs are being denied. I do not believe that awakening happens in the mind (that is just another concept) but initially through the the body. We have heard the phrase "keeping body and soul together".
To realise our true nature we need to unite the two factors as we would join both hands together in reverence to Buddha, God, Rama, Allah or whom every we like to name who represent the whole for us; The right hand representing the true self, pure awareness and the left hand, the body, the conditioning by society and thus bringing the two together and finding peace and stillness in our selves. I think this society is too focused on their physical bodies. This body that we have, in this carnation is part of the illusion. As long as we are attached to this physical body we will never know our true "higher states of being". Let go of the attachment; let go of fear. This body is only a shell; a shell that we will shed when we move on. The soul is what we have that makes us one with eternity and all that is. Know this and be free!

Doc, we probably have the same objective, but I suspect we'd be far better off as individuals and as societies if we began with the body. Stop imagining that your "soul" is your "higher self" and that your body is low, inferior, unworthy, weak. The universe operates neither according to hierarchy nor according to power; thus, to speak of "higher powers" is manifestly irrational from a standpoint of pure quantum logic.
So my advice would be for you to write that first sentence again, replacing "soul" with "body," and see how it feels to you. The body is what we have, what we know, what we feel: it is our direct and current connection to the cosmic whole. Know and truly honor the body, and the soul will take care of itself.
