Dr. Marty Klein is a California psychotherapist, sex therapist, and international lecturer in sexuality and public policy. He has been an expert witness or invited plaintiff in many important state and federal obscenity and anti-censorship cases. His landmark book America’s War On Sex, with a foreword by the ACLU’s Nadine Strossen, was honored as Book of the Year by AASECT.
Marty is frequently quoted by the popular press, including The New Yorker, The New York Times and on TV’s 20/20 and Nightline. He is outspoken about many popular and clinical ideas about sexuality, decrying psychology’s gender stereotypes, medicine’s sex-negativity, and what he calls “the Oprah-ization of relationships.” He is the country’s best-known critic of the concept of “sex addiction.” Marty’s latest book is Sexual Intelligence: What We Really Want From Sex–And How to Get It. Psychology Today magazine raves “Read this book if you want to improve your sex life.” Sign up for Marty’s newsletter at: www.SexualIntelligence.org.
