Damian Aspinall and Kwibi the gorilla grew up together in England when Kwibi was very young, but Kwibi had to be released into the forests of West Africa when he was 5 years old. This video shows the precious moment in which Damien and Kwibi reunite after 5 years of not seeing each other.

It was good to see Kwibi settled and having his own family in the wild. But this film shows more the need of the human for contact with the animal, and not the other way around. I feel it was unkind to appear before Kwibi only to leave him again shortly afterwards, leaving him with a sense of loss, as demonstrated by his following them down the river and waiting on the bankside. I wonder how long he waited after the expedition ended. Aspinall was only satisfying his own needs and did not consider Kwibi's own thoughts and feelings. When you have done the job you should leave well alone.
That was simply wondrous and I loved it!! Brought tears to my eyes and big smiles to my heart.....

Sweet, and sad at the same time- but so great that Kwibi gets to live a normal life in his true home.
DAMIAN YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO THEM... MORE OFTEN.... AS POSSIBLE...... LUKY MAN...
What a moving video! It brought tears to my eyes to see such love from this gorilla. It just breaks my heart to hear about so much poaching and cruelty toward these loving & highly intelligent mammals. Thank You for sharing this Care2.
