October is National Walking month!
Reasons to go for a stroll today:

- Americans are lagging in our walking distances! (In the U.S., adults take only 5,117 steps a day — compared to 9,650 in Switzerland, and 9,695 in Australia.)
- It’s a great way to experience your surroundings.
For another reason, watch this amazing video of a guy walking across the U.S., from Brooklyn Bridge in New York all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. …Okay, so he didn’t actually walk all those miles (here’s the behind-the-scenes explanation), but in my opinion, the illusion is inspiring enough to get out there and explore the sights, sans car.
