Papaya or Pineapple for the Skin – Enzyme Formulas

Both papaya and pineapple contain enzymes that soften and heal the skin.

The enzymes in these fruits fight free-radical damage and are known to reduce age spots and fine lines and leave the skin supple. They also cleanse the skin by dissolving dead cells from the skin’s surface.

Here is how to use these healing fruits on your skin:

INGREDIENTS
1 slice green papaya or 1 tablespoon papaya juice

-or-

1 slice ripe pineapple or 1 tablespoon pineapple juice

Massage the fruit or juice onto your face. Although the fruit is sticky, it is best to let it dry completely (it takes about 10 minutes), before rinsing with warm water and patting dry. Rub your hand over your face to feel just how much softer and more supple the skin feels!

What do you think about tablets like BruiseMD that include bromelain? Are they more or less effective than the fruit itself?

Vickie P.

What helps with the skin healing is a chemical called bromelain and it's also used in mean tenderizing. The protein dissolving quality is so strong that over time it actually dissolved fingerprints on those who cleaned pineapples for a living. You can also get it in a pill form to help w/leaky gut and help digest meat proteins and other things. It should be taken w/cauteon since it may also produce excessive bleeding, should not be taken with blood thinners even aspirin and could increase intensity of other (prescription) medications. So, there's some very powerful science behind this tasty little enzyme!

Good looking out. Thanks, Ms. Allsop.

Kiwi also offers the same enzyme action (proteases)and frequently easier and less expensive to obtain than papaya or fresh pineapple.
