Pouf Goes the Floor Cushion (with Knitting Pattern)

Here’s my interior design question: what do you do when you have extra guests and not enough seating? My husband made this beautiful low coffee table, and when we have an overflow of guests they sit on the floor and sidle up to the glass table.

A pouf, or a floor cushion, would be a quick, stylish, inexpensive and comfortable fix for casual extra seating. I like the look of floor cushions, and I’ve been collecting images of “poufs” in hopes that I’ll be able to figure out how to knit one.

I hadn’t thought much about knitted furniture before, but started to search around. I found my way onto the Norwegian site, Pickles. Pickles’ pouf is actually called a puff, because puff is the Norwegian word for stool. I am excited to share Pickles’ Puff Daddy knitting pattern with the Care2 community! That is soooo pretty - especially in the neutral bone coloured yarn (or whatever it's called).
I am quite tempted to knit it, despite the fact that our floors are damp and cold enough to cause a musty smell in anything that remains on floor for any length of time.

This is a great idea and the texture will also add dimension to the room design.
