This sounds like the most awesome idea ever, as long as the cats are happy with it. It's great if they're shelter cats as it can help them get adopted, as well as be more interesting for them than being stuck in the shelter all day. But the cats would also have to have the right temperament, to enjoy the company of humans and be confident. It would be horrible for a timid or aggressive cat to be forced to spend hours with several other cats and huge amounts of humans.

As long as the cats are happy I'm all for it. Especially for people who don't have their own pets for whatever reason. It's the kind of therapy for which there's no substitute!

Also I'm not too impressed with Purina One teaming up with the animal rescue in New York - they test on animals (ironically), and helping an animal rescue doesn't change that. Just an attempt at fooling potential customers into thinking they're ethical.
