Listen, laugh & learn with the Green Divas (and Green Dude Scott) anytime - Podcast here!
Never a dull moment in the Green Divas studio . . . an all green diva day with our usual array of diverse information ranging form recycling sneakers to ONE of our awesome recent interviews with Jessica Alba. And our inspiring interview with Rachel Kaplan, author of Urban Homesteading: Heirloom Skills for Sustainable Living, which is destined to be the definitive handbook to any type of homesteading.
Why We Should Care
This week we focused on our talk with actress, mom and business woman, Jessica Alba:
Visit Jessica’s very earth-friendly business geared towards healthy, green parenting – The Honest Company.
Sleeping Naked is Green segment: Recycle Your Running Shoes
We were surprised just how much can be done with recycled sneakers! Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe program has collected over 24 MILLION sneakers for use in their Nike Grind project that repurposes most of the materials to make all kinds of ball courts, playgrounds and tracks!
Also found a great non-profit called Sole4Souls that helps gather donated shoes and get them to people who need them all over the world – over 17 million have been given out so far!
Green Diva Lisa’s Take Two Segment was loaded with green celebrity dishing in honor of the Oscars.
Our Featured Guest was Rachel Kaplan, author of Urban Homesteading: Heirloom Skills for Sustainable Living. The book is definitely a must-have reference for anyone who is interested in finding simpler ways to live more sustainably – no matter where they live. An inspiring and thoughtful interview worth listening to.
