Relax people, do you really think a live walking Woolly One is going to be frolicking in the arctic sometime soon or a few decades from now?

Breathe deeply and have a calming herbal tea or whatever it is you do to relax.

Scientists and other researchers often work on the improbable or next to impossible and get research funding to boot.

Odds are pretty good that we won't be running arctic tours to view the roaming woolly mammoth or tropical tours to watch a hoard to T-Rex gobbling up residents of any island beach in the future.

The fears of vegans and others that man will have BBQ woollies is just not going to happen, nor will hunters be out to get a head for their trophy--what are they going to use--a heat seeking missle?

As for the person stating that man is horrific, using the words: "Humans are a disgrace. The human race deserves to be exterminated off the planet."

Hmmm, yes we humans can be pretty revolting at times. Extermination is such a nasty word. Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed as usual? Humans can also be the source of beauty, love and compassion. It is unlikely that you will volunteer to eliminate yourself from the face of the planet so kindly do expect the rest of us to be exterminated either, even if some of us do deserve just that--you know the type-sociopaths, evil dictators and the vermin who rape, pillage and kill. Not all humans fit into that category. We evolved for some reason and deserve to be here as much as the sea tur

Was too lengthy again, so to complete my comment below:

Not all humans fit into that category. We evolved for some reason and deserve to be here as much as the sea turtle and butterflies even if we are stupid enough to pollute and maim the planet-some of us try to reverse that little by little with what we have and usually it is not done with a whole lot of money!
Enjoy your day!

lets put that money and energy into preserving the life we have here NOW. they died out for a reason, and may even severely hurt life HERE.

Why bring back some animal from the past only to bring it back to extinction again?! So many existing species are already on the verge of extinction. Is there a purpose to this project apart from gaining fame?

Why? Let's protect the animals that are already here, and especially those that are endangered.

An interesting idea but a lot of thought should be put into the concept before attempting it.
