Secrets Behind Photo Retouching (video) sent Sarah, its video host, to visit Tim Lynch, a Photoshop expert, to see what he could do for her. Watch as he takes out blemishes and wrinkles and wipes the pounds away along her waist and legs.

He says 99.9 percent of the pictures you see in magazines these days have had this treatment. Reader beware.

I think it's ok if you're doing little fix-ups like removing pimples or whitening teeth or something like that, but when it comes to actually changing the person's body, like making their neck or legs longer, it goes too far. I don't think that re-touching photos should be banned, (sadly, I think that if people saw the models as they really are, they wouldn't buy the magazines anymore) but it needs limits.

thankyou for the video, very interesting.

I don't believe that photoshop altogether is a bad practice but really there has to be some limits. We could all use a touch-up but altering the body in this way doesn't do them or the reader any favors.

I don't read or look at fashion magazines anymore. So horrible.

Such an interesting video!!! Why they don't talk about it in TV???

I had some photos done by a photographer friend once and he showed me exactly what you see in that video just to show me the extremes you could go to. I couldn't help but much prefer edits but in the end I kept the raw photos only. I may not be perfect but it made me feel worse to think I needed editing.
