I always thought that cats were very hygienic doing things the natural way!

I wouldn't recommend bathing a cat, and there should rarely be the need to. They do a fine job bathing themselves, as you can see every time they cough up a hair ball;-)

20 years ago, we used to let our cats outside. The cats brought home fleas, and the fleas loved my husband.

When we moved into the house we are in now, we gave all 5 cats flea baths in one day!! I did the bathing, and my hubby did the holding, but he still got scratched.

Now, the cats stay inside because we live on a busy street and we want to keep them safe. We haven't given them a bath in a very long time and I am sure they are happy about that (LOL)!!

The video would be much more impressive if he hadn't wimped out with a "stunt double". Actual cats are much less serene than the stuffed kind and tend to protest any attempt at bathing. If you feel the need to bathe your cat, have many Band-Aids and possibly a tourniquet within reach. Not for the cat, or the foolhardy human.

I've always bathed my kitties, all rescues. I think it just may be a TRUST ISSUE or some are just plain scared, but I talk calmly and pet them gently the whole time. Always remember to clip their nails ahead of time just to be on the safe side. Lol
