Ginger is Better than Drugs for Pain, says Study

Ginger has been used medicinally for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine in India as a natural anti-inflammatory food.


How to Reap the Anti-Pain Benefits of Ginger (adapted from Arthritis-Proof):

-Add chopped, fresh ginger to soups, stews, stir-fries, and other recipes.  Ginger is delicious in many savory and sweet dishes alike.

-Add fresh ginger to a juicer while making juices.  It combines well with many other vegetables and fruits, such as carrots or apple.

-Ginger capsules (Zingiber officinale) are available for supplementation.  Follow package directions.

-Chopped, fresh ginger can be added to water and boiled in a pot for 45 minutes to an hour. Drink warm or with ice, as a tea.  Add a few drops of stevia to sweeten (stevia is a naturally-sweet herb).

-Ginger is available in alcohol tincture form.  A typical dose is 30 drops three times daily.  Avoid the alcohol extract if you are an alcoholic, suffering from liver disease, or diabetic.

Medicine never tasted so good.

I use a golf ball muscle massager to roll out each morning which really helps my body into the day i attached the link, it really does help. I also drink a scoop of biosteel which can help wake me up instead of coffee. Anybody else have any other ideas?

I've always used ginger for stomach issues and nausea...never for pain..will have to try for that.

I love ginger, and this might work for some general pain relief, but for those with chronic or acute pain, few things (if any) substitute for true pain meds as a panacea. Nothing works for everyone.

The story is too long for a comment here, but I can tell you several cases (including my own) how, in this one category -- where I am generally inclined away from mere Western medicine -- that the "alternative" solutions were much worse than what Western medicine had to offer.

Indeed, all disciplines have something to offer and each has an area in which they excel. This is the true lesson of the Ayurvedic Study.

Curd with little ginger juice adding little chopped green chilly and salt to taste make an excellent dish(inji thair) which help digestion and control bad cholesterol
