Tasmanian Devil Joey Day Care (Video)

These little devils are joeys from Devil Ark, the largest conservation breeding program for the Tasmanian devil on mainland Australia.

Tasmanian Devils are at serious risk of extinction due to the highly contagious devil facial tumour disease (DFTD). Devil Ark’s breeding program aims to give these little critters a fighting chance at survival!

The Tasmanian devils are threatened as many have facial cancers. This eventually kills them. In the wild many die with this and also on our roads. I hope we can save them.

Tasmanian devil I thought was classified as extinct because there were so few Tasmanian devil that no one at that time would believing they would survive. I am so happy they are still around. It's great news and what I was reading was so wrong! The Tasmanian Tiger a cousin of the Tasmanian devil has been selected for cloning. There is always the question should cloning be done to extinct animals? My think can we as people teach a Tasmanian Tiger to be a Tasmanian Tiger? In this case yes because 80 years ago there were Tasmanian Tiger. My thinking we should try cloning the Tasmanian devil.

What cute little guys. Boy, look at those teeth! I sure hope that this helps keep the Devil's from losing the war on the tumor disease. That is just awful.
