The Kingdom Of Heaven Is Within You

The source of reality is inside you. It is your essence.

Here Jesus points the way to hidden dimensions, not simply the conventional notion of Heaven. When you go inside, you are aware of activity such as thoughts and feelings. Your instinct is to pursue the activity that brings pleasure and avoid that which brings pain.

But Jesus spoke of a completely different inner reality. The consciousness hidden behind your thoughts is the consciousness that upholds all intelligence in the universe. It is personal and collective at the same time. The personal is made up of your relationships, the collective is made up of the myths and archetypes common to all cultures. Both dimensions are you, and you can begin to connect the two as a bridge to the sacred.

Sit quietly when you have time to be alone and undisturbed. Choose a prayer that you feel comfortable with, or a phrase from that prayer. Silently repeat the words to yourself, letting them settle naturally into your awareness, becoming softer and deeper. Continue for at least five minutes and up to twenty minutes. This kind of sacred repetition is common to every religious tradition.

When you open your eyes, let your gaze settle on a sacred image. Ask this figure to embody itself through you. Gently feel a connection. Donít force this, just put out the intention that the archetype merges with your being. Some people use angels for this purpose, which is the same as asking for the essence of God to reach you.

Now contemplate the specific qualities you want, such as love, compassion, or forgiveness. These are archetypical energies that you are asking to express through your thoughts, emotions, and actions. By calling on your higher archetype, you will find yourself thinking and doing things you never expected as the person you know.

EYE ICON:

Thank you for what you said:

First, embodying also brings transformation, and transformation comes through practice. So, if we wish such qualities as love, compassion, and forgiveness, we will find opportunities to express those qualities coming into our lives before we are able to fully incorporate those qualities. This is how we grow.

These are the opportunities Care2 provides for us.

I am grateful.

I have records in doctor's and dentist's offices, with xrays, proving the healings God gave me about 3 1/2 years ago.

I surrendered completly to Him. I was dying: physically, mentally, morally, spiritually, financialy. I mean I was a goner!

I cried out to God, "Deliver me! Deliver me! I cry unto thee my night and by day, Deliver me."

"I will and that soon."

Took him two months to get me out of the trap I had gotten myself into when I turned away from him to do my own thing.

The doctor said, "You're a success case. To what do you attribute your healing?"

"To God."

"Your church?"

"No to God."

He also got me out of heavy debt in less than a year. He got me a promotion at work. He got me a beautiful wardrobe for very little money. He started a flow of miracles through my life that continues even as my healings continue.

I got a physical exam from a doctor a few months ago. "You're in better shape than some teenagers." I'm 69.

Hey, HE IS REAL!!

God proved to me that he loves me more than I love myself. He wants better things for me than I want for myself.

My prayer is, "Lord, your will. Not mine!"

I have everything I want and need. I like a simple life. I love the life he gave me. I am truly happy. And you can believe me, I keep surrendered and in continuous touch with HIM. Don't I, my LORD, my love, my life?"

I would like to pick up on the idea that Bob C. shared and take it in a different direction, and tie it into the exercise that Deepak suggests.

First, embodying also brings transformation, and transformation comes through practice. So, if we wish such qualities as love, compassion, and forgiveness, we will find opportunities to express those qualities coming into our lives before we are able to fully incorporate those qualities. This is how we grow. We shouldn't think of failure, simply that we are afforded an example of each step of the ladder to the full realization of that quality. Sometimes, we will be greatly surprised or disturbed by our lack of expression of one of the qualities we want to embody. It is good to be able to see that.

It is doing what is against our own conditioning, our own prejudices, that slowly helps us awaken to embodying the qualities we so admire. We are being transformed, each in a way that honors who we are, just as we learn to honor others for who they are, dirt or no dirt, blood or no blood, appearance makes no difference, gender makes no difference, intelligence makes no difference.

We are about uncovering our true heartbeat. Hear it in the silence with each repetition of the word. Feel it throughout your body in the stillness. Become it, an eternal rhythm resonating in all of creation. The qualities are present.
