The Mind-Soul Journey

The Mind-Soul Journey

A personís subjective experience of God canít be challenged Ė at the quantum level, objectivity and subjectivity merge into each other. The point of merger is the soul; therefore knowing God comes down to this: like a photon nearing a black hole, your mind hits a wall as it tries to think about the soul. The soul is comfortable with uncertainty; it accepts that you can be in two places at once (time and eternity); it observes cosmic intelligence at work and is not bothered that the creative force is outside the universe.

The mind is creeping closer and closer to the soul, which sits on the edge of Godís world, at the event horizon. The gap of separation is wide when there is no perception of spirit; it grows smaller as the mind figures out what is happening. Eventually the two will get so close that mind and soul have no choice but to merge. When that happens, the resemblance to a black hole is striking.

To the mind, it will be as if falling into Godís world lasts forever, an eternity in bliss consciousness. From Godís side, the merging takes place in a split second; indeed, if we stand completely in Godís world, where time has no meaning, the whole process never even occurred. The mind was part of the soul all along, only without knowing it.

The instant that your mind pays any attention to the soul, it is pulled toward it, with the inevitable result that all separation will close. The process is like a particle of light crossing the event horizon.

The fact that our minds can register this journey is astonishing, because the whole time that it is happening, ordinary thought and perception continue. Two shoppers pushing grocery carts are doing the same thing in the material world, but one could be having an epiphany.

Adapted from How To Know God, by Deepak Chopra (Harmony Books, 2000).

yet,
mind
we are not
and
body
we shall let pass, too
as well
we evolve
in spirit
and
ever new
our gift of life
belongs
to you

so cherish this journey
for it comes from beyond the blue
carrying your mystery

above all human being's questions

allowing
transformations

of grace

and merciful salvation from a vast cosmos
weathering all storms

from which we were once conceived

believe

and be still to know
your mind is not stagnet

and all things are new again

The mind-Soul journey is very good to everyone because there you create your own philosophies which are just right for you.

"To the mind, it will be as if falling into God’s world lasts forever, an eternity in bliss consciousness. From God’s side, the merging takes place in a split second"

Except that minds are temporary. Even assuming that souls do exist, minds are not eternal thing. Brains can damaged, and parts of person's mind can be visibly lost forever even when they are still alive. When a person dies, there mind because dead tissue and decays.

Deepak mentions time has no meaning "on gods side" and yet he claims that merging there happen in a "split second" which is a rough measurement of time. And how could anyone know about how time functions in "God's world"?

"The instant that your mind pays any attention to the soul, it is pulled toward it, with the inevitable result that all separation will close. The process is like a particle of light crossing the event horizon."

Deepak once again misuses the term 'event horizon' while suggesting souls drift around the mind...

"Two shoppers pushing grocery carts are doing the same thing in the material world, but one could be having an epiphany."

Finally something that is true. One of the grocery shoppers could suddenly realize that he or she could be healthier if they bought more fruits and green vegetables.

What Deepak has done is babble in the hopes that you will all interpret his ramblings in a meaningful way, buy his books, and he'll be set for life.

(continued) at work and is not bothered that the creative force is outside the universe."

Time and eternity are not two different places, and I won't even comment on his alleged "creative force", because that's been beaten to death.

"The mind is creeping closer and closer to the soul, which sits on the edge of God’s world, at the event horizon."

Sits at the edge of god's world? What world is this? Even if I don't take Deepak's word's literally, they still make no sense whatsoever. Does Deepak have any clue what the term "event horizon" means? I think that Deepak just think the word horizon seems meaningful and spiritual and decided that the word event would spice up his little speech and make it even more incomprehension so no one will be able to question it.

"A person’s subjective experience of God can’t be challenged – at the quantum level, objectivity and subjectivity merge into each other."

Humans don't think at a "quantum level", because using that term in that context is nonsensical, and you are all but speaking gibberish. Also, because subjectivity is judgment based on individual personal impressions, feelings and opinions rather than external facts, a subjective view on any religious concept may not "merge" with the objective reality of that concept's state of being or nonexistence. What Deepak basically said is that deep down, a person's personal beliefs will always reflect reality and truth. Deepak is making a 'Luna Lovegood' like claim that if you believe something, or at least something supernatural like "god", then your belief is true, which is of course foolishness. If a madman believes Cthulhu is real, is Cthulhu then real? How about a child and the tooth fairy?

"The point of merger is the soul; therefore knowing God comes down to this: like a photon nearing a black hole, your mind hits a wall as it tries to think about the soul."

The point of what merger? Photons don't "hit a wall" or stop when they near a black hole, they get sucked in and trapped forever. Kinda like how Deepak's many marks get sucked in to his black hole of brainwashing lies.

"the soul is comfortable with uncertainty; it accepts that you can be in two places at once (time and eternity); it observes cosmic intelligence

For a real life, let's take time to listen to ourselves: the soul

each to their own be true! (or something like that), we must just not impose but only share what we believe!

that hiking trail looks peaceful.

Pretty picture. It reminds me of many a trail, wilderness and otherwise, that I have hiked on over the years including daily dog walks in the woods. It's the best way for me personally to clear my head and put things back into proper perspective.
