Men: if you want to get your lady in the mood, skip the chemically-infused cologne or pesticide-laden roses, and find some black licorice instead. Yes, the scent of the natural botanical is said to stimulate a woman’s libido more than any other aroma.

A study, conducted by Alan R. Hirsch, neurological director of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, revealed that women who were exposed to the scent of licorice had a 13 percent increase in bloodflow to their sexual organs compared to a 1 percent reduction from the scent of men’s cologne. Though the exact reason that licorice arouses women is unclear, Hirsch believes that it is either an unexplained chemical reaction in the brain or olfactory-evoked nostalgia.

Next time you plan an enchanting evening, nevermind that contrived concept that “every woman loves roses” and instead serve your sweetie a cup of organic licorice tea and all-natural licorice candies for dessert. Good luck!

I've never liked colognes or aftershaves... And I never thought of licorice as a sexy scent, but now that you mention it... :-)

Ironic that licorice scent turns women on because it has been shown that if men eat licorice a lot their testosterone level goes down...

Well, my fav. scent for men is "Individuel" (their spelling) by Montblanc. If you know where a Montblanc pen boutique is in a mall, they still sell that one. I told them they should have called it "Just Do Me".
:-D
On a less expensive and more accessible level, I love the "Vice" version of AXE for men. Just about Everybody has that.
Other fav.s that I like on men are, "Polo Black" - Ralph Lauren, and the Original "Egoiste" by Chanel.
I guess you can still buy the original Egoiste. They came out with a Platinum Egoiste, but it paled in comparison.
The original had a scent in it that reminded me of a pipe tobacco store.

I remember hearing that vanilla also had a lot of guy-appeal.

Inga D asked what is the sexiest scent for men? I have read that pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon, ginger, lemon, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom & chinese 5 spice) does it. Also lavender.

my sweetie brought me over a box of licorice tea last week. it seemed the oddest thing. now i'm wondering! it's so unlikely that he read about this - he doesn't go online much.
