He’s a Basset Hound. They’re supposed to be great hunters.
Robbie Brown has a Basset Hound named Elvis whose main skill is sleeping. He needs a little help to get in touch with his hound dog roots. So Robbie takes him to the Fun Field Trial in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where dogs are trained to chase rabbits.
Watch and see what Elvis does.

Colleen, Not all dogs are bred to be hunters or protectors, or herders or show dogs. A dog is whatever the dog wants to be, so don't be so judgmental on them because some of them are way more intelligent then any of us.
On the other hand...very, VERY cute dog, and a great video.

people are possibly breeding differnt lines, he could be defective?

why does everyone think every animal was domesticated "just for a snuggle buddy"?
