Traditional Navajo Prayer.

Here is one of the most profound prayers–one that can grow on you and provide deeper meaning over the years–about seeing and feeling how embraced we are by the Divine, and showing that a way to find healing is to return to this beauty and really open all your senses to its embrace:

As I Walk With Beauty

As I walk, as I walk
The universe is walking with me
In beauty it walks before me
In beauty it walks behind me
In beauty it walks below me
In beauty it walks above me
Beauty is on every side
As I walk, I walk with Beauty

I loved the poem as it woke me up to the truth in it's content.

Thank you, Annie!

Beautiful and so true. Many old native stories provoke this type of thought.Too bad they were not as appreciated and embraced as a people when first told to the settlers when they arrived.Maybe more of our history would be seen as giving the credit to where it really belongs to them. Our culture today is based much on the native history but little of it is acknowledged for it's origins and contributions. I say thank you for both the poem and the contribution to our history.

thank you!

Thanks, that is a wonderful prayer. I'm sure it has different meaning for different people. For me it means walking in the beauty of God's creation.

For you to be really beautiful, you first have to strive for your inward beauty, and your inward beauty comes from you taking care of your body by you being in good health by you eating foods that are good for you such as whole wheat bread with flax,by Orowheat,as Flax loosens up your stools so that your stools can easier move out of your system. Also ginger, cinnamon, green tea,and garlic are very good for your health so con sume them and also consume soymilk with flax oil, soyburgers, etc.

That poem is an adaptation from an old native American Indian chant..."May I walk in beauty" may beauty surround you, too!
