Warm Your Heart Active Meditation

When we bring a sacred prayer into the physical realm with gesture or repeated movement, great power and beauty can be created. If you would like to warm your heart, try this simple combination of gesture and word performed by candlelight.

Here are the simple instructions for this Heart-Warming active meditation.

1. Find a time and place where you will not be disturbed. Light a candle. Warm your hands for a moment at its flame.

2. Now bring your hands to your heart as you say, “I warm my heart at heavenís fire.” Repeat several times, allowing yourself to deepen with each repetition.

Inspired by Snow Melting in a Silver Bowl, by Nancy Brady Cunningham and Denise Geddes (Weiser Books, 2004).
