Heliotropism is the natural mechanism in plants that allows them to always grow in the direction of light. By extension, I believe that your thoughts, your intentions, are the equivalent of that light, and the world itself grows in a direction to meet those intentions.
Our thoughts, our wishes, our desires, our dreams are not technically our thoughts, wishes, desires, or dreams. They are manifestations of the total universe. And when you realize that the intentions and desires that arise in you are the very intentions of the universe, you can relinquish your desire for control and let the miraculous life you were born to lead unfold in all its unimaginable magnificence.
Once you understand this premise, you will understand the sutra of the first principle of synchrodestiny: The core of my being is the ultimate reality, the root and ground of the universe, the source of all that exists. As simple as this sounds, its depth can take a lifetime to plumb, and its meaning for our lives is profound.
Intention springs from our deepest desires, and those desires are shaped by karma. You and I don’t have the same karma; therefore we don’t have exactly the same desires. We have loved different people, knelt at different graves, prayed at different altars. The specifics of desire are unique to each of us.
Yet if you follow the chain of desire, in the end we are all the same. We want to be happy. We want to be fulfilled. We want meaning and purpose in our lives. We want a sense of connection with God or spirit. We want other people to respect us and love us. And we want to feel safe.
These desires are universal. But the route each of us takes to satisfy them is uniquely our own, based on our individual experiences and memories, or karma. We’re all heading for the same destination, but we take different roads. We arrive together, having traveled our different paths.

I find a great peace in reading this. There are some great stresses in my life currently and being reminded of this persepective calms my soul.
Awesome!!!
our desire to have all the absolute ultimate answers is a positive quality when balanced with desire to do the greatest good for others, whom there will never be 'like minds' - isn't that a core problem in personal relationships, progressing to larger human groups that we call 'nations' - * it also seems true that some minds are intent on fighting, not loving, and the grand canyon between the two is awesome in every detail. ~ still and yet, evermoreso, Peace Among You All, declare Peace. it begins with only 2, and it shall grow exponentially * i believe we are potentially capable - as yet still struggling with the reality, yet Hope lives.
-"the desires and intentions that arise in you are the very intentions of the universe".- from a judgemental point of wiew this statement doesn't apply to the will and to the wishes of the majority of humans making sense in this planet.. how can a terrorist or a murderer be answering to a call of the "universe" telling to destroy and maim..? i don't see it at all as Mr. Deepak says, coming from the "universe", but as a response to the human volition of each responsible adult.. we are the same in that we have free will,.. but if your conscience is at peace after killing, we could be missing something important concerning Justice in the Universe that goes beyond good and evil..
Chopra is a puffed-up sellout.
