What Should I Do with My Life?

How many times have you heard this one, or even asked it yourself? After all, it is a commonly-asked question. Most of us are haunted by all our options, perennially wondering if we’re “doing the right thing.”

Dr. Dyer has a whole new approach to this dilemma. He suggests that we stop asking that question and move instead into a place of faith and trust in the universal mind of intention, “remembering that you emanated from this mind and that you’re a piece of it at all times.”

Here are a few of Dr. Dyer’s thought-provoking ideas that can help you to answer the question, “What should I do with my life?”

Dr. Dyer suggests that there is only one thing you can do with your life, “since you came into this life with nothing and you’ll leave with nothing.: You can give it away.” When we serve–when we give away to others, to the planet, and to Source–in a way that is authentically detached from outcomes, we feel “on purpose.”

As Dr. Dyer says, “Your purpose is not as much about what you do as it is about how you feel.” Extending kindness beyond our own boundaries connects us to our Source. When we do this, it makes us feel happy and content, a signal to us that we are doing the right thing.

Inspired by The Power of Intention, by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer (Hay House, 2004).

Let's identify WHO the "universal mind of intention" is. Since there are no fairy "gods" and we all know that "God" is really MEN who are in power right now, who happen to be filthy rich, let's ask the question, WHAT DO OUR POWER MONGERS INTEND TO DO? What do the MASTERS (old white men) want to do with US? Our LEADERS (government, Catholic Church, rich white men) have a bunch of new wars planned. They need you young gorgeous guys to go over to some hell hole and die for nothing so they can steal OIL. They need young girls to pop out babies to feed the war machine. So YOUNG PEOPLE, that's YOUR PURPOSE in life. For us OLDER people they just want us to go off and DIE and more importantly SHUT UP while we're doing it. ;)

I fret all the time about whether I'm doing what I came here to do, or completely missed the point! I guess whatever we do gives us feedback, however, and that helps keep us on track.

I never saw a hearse pulling a U haul.

You may not be able to take it with you but you sure can send it on ahead.

You get to keep what you give away.

I don't collect clutter. I put what I don't really want and I'm not using into my heavenly bank account. Then I toss in one or more things that I do want. lol

I give it away!

You come with nothing and you leave with nothing. Very true. Thank you.

Then, perhaps the purpose of life is not about careers or what one does to earn money, but rather about how much we can spread love and understanding into the world. Surely with more of that there would be fewer wars, less fear and many happier people who do not live in fear, hunger or poverty.

This is a very important issue to think about. Sometimes you hear the saying, Get a Life and your like what? Until we see ourselves as other see us, then we can better ourself and see the changes that needs to be made. I call this a wake up call when we can't see at times what were doing until someone says something. Thank you for the article.....! To better myself is my gaol.
