This has been a tough year for those who drive fossil fuel-powered vehicles. Oil and gas prices have been painfully high for months, forcing many to seek out alternative forms of transportation, like biking or the city bus.
Although they may spend countless dollars on fuel over the course of a year, few people ever stop to truly calculate how much money it takes to keep their gas guzzlers running.
In the following infographic from Mint.com, you can see which states have the most fuel-conscious drivers, and which states are spending millions to pump toxic emissions into the air. Where does your state rank?

Interesting Post--thanks.
I would like to do more to help reduce the amount of gas used by my family. One thing that makes that difficult is living in a rural area. Another hindrance is the lack of public transportation at certain hours and in certain areas. I would be open to biking, but it isn't very popular in my area. Besides that, I can't afford a bike at this time. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the article.
Thanks.
