Wisdom from Phil Bolsta

Your every thought, word, and action spring from either love or fear. The nature of your choices determines the quality of your life.

Love is the whisper of the Divine, ceaselessly calling creation back toward the Creator. Fear expresses itself as anger, intimidation, insecurity, despair, self-loathing, or any other emotion or behavior not grounded in love.

When you choose love, you are coming from your heart and declaring that you trust God to handle the consequences. When you choose fear, you are coming from your head and assuming that you can manage the situation better than God can.

Choose love, and you are being proactive; you are making things happen, living a life of choice, and getting better. Choose fear, and you are being reactive; you are letting things happen, living a life of chance, and getting bitter.

Choose love and you share your authentic self with the world. Choose fear and you conceal your true identity from others and, worse yet, from yourself.

Choose fear, and you will forever be searching for happiness and fulfillment through other people, possessions, and experiences. Choose love, and you discover unimaginable bliss within your own heart.

Choose love, and you serenely welcome whatever gifts are delivered to your door. Choose fear, and you affirm that you do not trust what tomorrow may bring….Continue reading at InspireMeToday.com.

Lynn C., I think it is perfectly appropriate to feel anger and hatred when we see cruelty and injustice. That just means we know the difference between how we want to live and what we see some other's doing. We call people greedy and insensative when they don't recognize how their actions affect others. And if we never own that we feel fear, anger, and all other negative emotions, we don't allow ourselves to take action to defend ourselves. So somebody else has to.I think what the artical is talking about is not getting caught up in the intellectual sparing just for the sake of being 'juiced' by it. Chooseing Love is getting out of the mind , trying to figure everything out , and just surrendering to 'being' and trusting that the Universe has an intelligence beyond anything our ego personalities have, and it knows ballance. Creating ballance is an on going thing, not a bringing every thing to the middle and holding it there. The heart can literaly feel that. The mind isn't wired to feel. It analyzes and files experiences, makes networks of simalarities. At least this is my understanding so far.

Knowing is one thing, doing quite another, especially when you are surrounded by all the negatives .... it's so very hard at times.

We probably all know this is true. Why is it so hard to do sometimes? We see a cruelty or an injustice and the anger flares...

To bad you have to be so full of your own fear that you put down good thoughts like this.

Maybe you need to start looking more inward and discover yourself!

"Your every thought, word, and action spring from either love or fear."

Nonsense. Most of our actions are general maintenance. When you go to the lavatory, wash the dishes, buy a newspaper etc love and hate rarely come into it, and if you have a strong sense of morality and duty you can behave beningnly without loving the other person - sometimes, even if you hate their guts.

Making it all about love and fear is making it all about yourself - and it shouldn't be. Indeed some Buddhist philosophers believe you should eliminate both those emotions.
