Women: What Do You Wish You Had More Time For?

  • 2 of 12

Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life. – Pablo Picasso

I wish I had more time for art (or crafts, writing, etc). I wish I could say that this one surprised me but it didn’t. If your life is not already built around your art, it is so incredibly easy to not find time to create. But, that doesn’t mean it’s optional. I don’t care if it’s scrapbooking, painting, photography, knitting, or writing in a journal, when you have these impulses to create, trust that it has purpose, and refuse to let it go.

Making time to create will keep you connected to your feeling self in a world that too often calls on the thinking self alone. Also, creation energy is healing energy and it heals the artist. Art opens hearts and minds and when shared, the world becomes a better place.

When you make time to honor your creative impulse, you open the lines of communication between you, your inner knowing and your source (by whatever capital lettered name you have for it). Plus, there is no greater manifestation tool than to birth an image of what you desire to capture the magic in a moment of desire (I don’t care if it’s a quick sketch or a inspiring thought jotted on a napkin).

Lastly, if you want to live a more full, creative experience, you have to make space for that to continue to flow into your life. Otherwise, you’re saying, “No thanks, I’m good without you,” and I don’t need a crystal ball to know that’s not the message you mean to be sending to your higher, very creative self.

I love this post, partly because it made me feel good about all the little things I DO managed to do for myself instead of just thinking I'm not doing enough.

Christy, I always enjoy your articals, but there is one thing I feel I must point out. Our bodies are NOT machines! Or temples. They are animals, human mammals that our 'spirits' live in for their earthly visit.Perhaps this old belief of 'body as a machine' is at the root of a lot of self disreguard that incourages us to let others determine our use of attention. We don't assume the bodies of our pets or work animals, or food animals are machines, so why do we think our own bodies can be treated like equipment that can be pushed to the max every day? I'm a massage therapist and there are some clients whoes personality just annoy the hell out of me, but I can always emphathize with their bodies. It's like a neglected horse with a stupid rider who has no sense of the emotional nature, or physical needs of their own loyal steed. Acknowledge your body as a creature who loves you and you will not confuse your spiritual nature with your bodys nature. It's the one that wants to move and dance, sleep more, drink more water, make music and get the mind to shut up long enough to just be so the energy that feeds all can flow thru unobstructed.

Thanks for the lovely post. It's interesting to see what people said. I would like time to pick up music again and learn how to use my second-hand table loom, but soon I will be making time to travel and learn some other things, so for now those things can wait.

I've got all the time I need. I spend it with my Life Review in mind.

Thank you, great read! I'm homeschooled so I do lots of these things in my free time, after school work. Everyone can always make a little time for something. I enjoy art, guitar, sleep, reading, and pretty much everything on this list :)

Having enough time is age related. Never enough when children are smaller. Just do the best one can. Time management can be applied with success to all other life circumstances.
