Your Pure Soul Presence

Take a moment to become aware of who is reading this page. Do you feel a presence? That presence is not your mind; it’s your soul. The mind might be saying, What am I going to have for lunch? or I wonder what time it is. The inner dialogue happens in the presence of the soul.

Thoughts come and go, feelings come and go. The molecules of the body come and go. But they come and go in this presence. This presence, the soul, recycles itself as your memories, your moods, and even your personality, because you don’t have the same personality today that you had when you were 5 years of age, or when you were 15.

You personality is an expression of the evolving universe; it’s constantly changing, growing, evolving, transforming.

Who is going through this experience? The real you–the you that we call pure consciousness, the field of intelligence, the inner self, the soul, the spirit, the infinite consciousness, the Being within you. Here, we have used all of these terms synonymously.

If you get in touch with this presence, if you really become intimate with it because it’s your own inner self, then you will know experientially, without anybody telling you, that this presence was there before you were born, and it will be there after you die.

Adapted from Power, Freedom and Grace, by Deepak Chopra (Amber-Allen Publishing Inc., 2006).

I have found that a great way to get in touch with the deep inner you is to look back and see how you have changed. Sit down with a close friend who didn't know you five ten years ago and tell them about the you that was then. Cause you will slowly see what about you hasn't changed, what has remained the same. In looking back during that discussion I realized just how far I've come and what awesome life lessons I've learned (I genuienly hadn't realized how much I've changed from my freshman year of college to now my senior year) but more importantly the core of myself that has not changed. It's a beautiful insight and getting in touch with that, I think makes you realize even more who you are and what your capable of. :-)

PS I think it's beautiful to see all the positive compliments and not a single negative or attacking statement. It makes me very genuinely pleased.

The original meaning for the latin word "persona" is a rolemask or a mask. I found this quite interesting...

Thank you. I needed it too :)

I've tried not to change. Still,I have too many trying to do just that. At the age 5, I was reading and doing math. Off to school to be forced to be exposed to a prorogue of ignorance and paranoid (The South). I hoped not to change ,for fear of fulfilling my father's dream of being him.
I understand the point your making. I do try to preempt myself growth. (I need help.)

Thank you Deepak...we need constant reminders of who we really are until we finally "get it " and then let this concept go again.

No matter what they tell us..i will always love you...we can and shall find our way back ..like the song that i love so dearly ...as you...no matter what they tell us no matter what they say...xo

Don't we all need Dr. Chopra for enlightenment?
He's probably in the middle of another book to be published, to enlighten ourselves and everyone else too- and he is a great teacher, we know.

Mia, keep searching unless he comes to you first & soon for your needs. You sound so troubled...
Best, Dina

Thank you, Deepak. You put into words what I have not been able to express to myself through the years.
