]]> On 14 June, WSPA, working with their partner Les Amis de Bonobos, released 9 bonobos to their natural habitat in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is the first ever release of captive bonobos into the wild.

]]> On June 15th, Canada’s 2009 commercial seal slaughter came to an end. Just over 72,000 harp seals were killed. But we can take some comfort in the knowledge that more than a quarter of a million seals survived the slaughter.
