The crime James Spencer Yancey plead guilty to is horrific. He and an accomplice allegedly beat a 6 month old Lab puppy, named Bailey, with a metal pipe in a field right near her home. Her owners heard her screams and found her poor, beaten, lifeless .

This is important because it is humanely irresponsible to disarm and torture bears through the practice of removing the claws and teeth and tethering the bear in a small confinement. Hunting dogs are then unleashed on the defenseless bear .
