It was a scary scene at the Henry Doorly Zoo Wednesday morning, after a routine procedure on one of the tigers quickly turned wild for veterinarians.

It would be frightening for the vet staff but there most likely is always a chance of this happening. It would be more a shock that it happened at all. I am sure the vet will fully recover.

As a preventative: What about a muzzle while the animal is sedated?

Well Virginia D. That is a sensible suggestion. Why has no one else thought of it. Only problem might be if they have somethng in the animals airway but it sounds like a good preventative solution otherwise.
