Our country really has gone to the dogs and cats, and that's not at all bad. The Humane Society of the United States reports that 39 percent of households are home to at least one dog, and 34 percent have at least one cat.

That is so true. Some nights when my cat climbs in my lap, or my Louie {see picture by my name} lays right as close as he can get to me, all my problems are forgotten.

Would love too but where I live I am unable to have any pets. When and if I move and am able to I would love too.

That's great. Now if every Pet Owner was responsible enough to put an ID tag on their pet, the percentage rate would be even higher. And I, along with so many other true animal lovers wouldn't have so many orphans in our homes to prevent them from going to animal control, to eventually be put to sleep.

Out of pocket sanctuaries can't afford a Nonprofit status, but do the same thing as no kill shelters, and going broke in the process because of Irresponsible Pet Owners.

There are still people out there that have no clue and not desire to actually care for an animals needs. They are seen as pieces walking patio furniture that they put food out for, when they think of it.

There are still too many pets in the wrong home, with careless people, that have no business having kids, let alone a helpless animal.

Until these numbers reflect Responsible Owners, the percentage isn't as good as one would hope. There is still much to do. And it starts with a low cost ID Tag.

thanks for sharing...we can only say so much but it's the people that need to do something about it....the ones that show disrespect for the life of an animal.
