In a landmark judgment in any wildlife poaching case in the country, a tribal gang of 16 from Katni in Madhya Pradesh was sentenced to five years' rigorous imprisonment for killing Asiatic lions of Gir by a Bhavnagar court.

5 years? Not to bad,but could have been more.But without parole i hope.Let them think in jail about what they did.Thanks Cher

Actually, I had wished they served 5 ADDITIONAL years. Another article mentioned that, as they served over a year in prison, they were to serve 3 more years. Anyway, I hope this is an example to those who want to poach that there will be some punishment.
