Cloris Leachman, Dressed Up in Cabbage and Lettuce By PETA

Sure, I'd love it more if 82-year-old Cloris Leachman were a vegan and the ad promoted veganism rather than vegetarianism, but in comparison with other "Lettuce Ladies" campaigns and stunts from PETA, of which I'm not a fan, this one is fantastic.

You know, Cher, I always loved Cloris Leachman, that is back 3O-some-odd years ago when I was still living in the States and could see her in films.
This post of yours makes me realize how I haven't seen her or heard anything about her in years!

So it's great to see her again, magnificently attired in purple cabbage & curly, lacy-looking lettuce, resembling a queen and standing up for a good cause!

If only she could succeed in convincing more Americans to eat less meat...

Btw, you didn't TELL us that there's a video, too, so you can hear her great voice. I can't believe how beautiful & glamorous she is even at 80-what? If that isn't a convincing argument for going meatless!

But who is 'Frau Bucher' or 'Bucha' ? That's how she introduces herself right at the start of the video.

Alba, Frau Blucha was her name in Young Frankenstein...if you've never seen it, you should...Mel Brooks at his best

Thanks for the info, BCR. I was sure it was the name of a character she had played but the name didn't ring a bell ! Of course I've seen Young Frankenstein; or at least, I've seen one Mel Brooks' Frankenstein -- were there more than one?

I L-O-V-E Mel Brooks: 'Springtime for Hitler,' anyone ? Or Yiddish-speaking Native Americans?

I loved her as the mother in Malcolm in the Middle - bit too close to my own mother in law's ways at times - but thinking of her helped me to smile on through!!

Now, Malcolm in the Middle is one I missed...In French, Young Frankenstein is 'Frankenstein Junior;' that's why I had a doubt about 'Young Frankenstein'!

Btw, if PETA wss really concerned about OUR health, and not just the ANIMALS', they'd say 'Turn Over A New ORGANIC Leaf' & 'Say NO To GMOs' !
