OMG, this man should be put away for life, if not, throw the judge in jail tooo! This is something out of a horror movie. The ranch owner should have gotten help from rescue centers or put them down in a humanely manner.

What a disgrace to the human race - this Muduna. He has been reckless by starving these poor creaatures to death- with absolute no regard for their welfare. He deliberately caused this horrific demise of the animals. He should be banned from animal husbandry and fined!

Another one that doesn't deserve to breathe ... may God forgive me but in cases like this I wished there was public lynching and, yes, I'd throw the first stone with glee!

Animal rights activists have been busy killing a lot of animals this year. I believe the man when he says that they were poisoned.

A woman at a rescue I support was the one who blew the whistle. Simone posted when 3 Strikes hit the news. I sent this info on to her as well. This is to catch everyone up and to ask you to always keep your eyes open when something does not seem right.

This was in my home email box the day the story made news:

And Careen – well I don’t know if you have been reading ABR at all, but our Careen is one courageous lady! There is a mustang rescue in Nebraska called 3 Strikes. It was supposed to be a sanctuary for mustangs who didn't have any chance. The guy who ran the place was all “cowboy” …..and full of s**t as it turns out. They recently came on ABR with a lie that their neighbors were poisoning their mustangs and the mustangs were dying. They needed money for medical testing, etc. They went so far as to say that one beautiful little colt named Blue was sick and then died. Thousands of $$ were raised by the good people of ABR. Well, Careen got a tip that Blue didn’t die after all. So she called the vet and sure enough, Blue was alive! She posted it on ABR and it blew the lid off the scam. And it’s unfolding in a horrible way – many of the mustangs have died. The a**hole didn’t feed them enough. Some were turned out on the range and there was no grass or food anywhere to be found. They are full of worms. Jerry Finch of Habitat for Horses (another Saint Joe if you ask me) flew up there to start managing the horrible task of dealing with 200+ starved horses. There is a massive money raising drive on ABR. Anyway, sorry if you know all of this, but Careen is one smart lady with more integrity than most people I know. She had real balls to do what she did, especially since ABR has treated her terribly in the past when she exposed another heartbreaking scam last year I think. I sent her a small donation with my thanks. God love her.

Then from Careen in my email box at home (I will edit some names):

I wanted to forward on some info to ******** to put on the S>S> website that is being developed. This is very important as I have been aware of this rescue and began to have concerns over a month ago when he began fundraising and there were many red flags that were not being adressed when questions were asked. Reportedly a young colt was taken to the vet very ill and was euthanized. Reportedly his necropsy was done which was suspected to confirm poisoning by local ranchers. After many patient weeks of waiting, information was given to me raising doubts and I called the vet in NE, whom stated the colt had been brought in and was found suffering from starvation and had indeed lived. No necropsy was ever done. He had never been picked up despite numerous requests to the rescue. I made this publicly known and things quickly unfolded as the BLM intervened to remove their 5 horses and burros but only one was found alive. This is a huge ordeal and currently the rescuer, Jason has been released on bail. Much remains in the air about the immediate happenings, but events are changing minute by minute as horse vounteers on site are working with legal channels to protect remaining horses.
Please take a look. I have spent alot of time and energy working toward the safety of these 100 plus horses remaining alive.
There is a blog on the Topeka Capitol Journal cjonline about this. Please post your comments and concerns.

It is Aero again. When something does not look or feel right, please do not hesitate to investigate. Had Careen not made some calls there is no telling how many more would have died, and suffered horribly before they did so. Thank you.
Aero

Rescues attacking rescues has been the pattern this year.

This happened near where I live. Some passerby noticed horses with ribs sticking out and contacted the humane society. The horses were saved just in time. How or why would someone have horses or any animal and not feed them at least? It is horrible!

How awful.. that people can treat these horses in this way... They shoudl be banned for life... or better still have a milstone tied around their necks and thrown into the sea... so that they may never be allowed to do this atrocious thing to animals again... They should be ashamed...

I allways thought that a ranch is a place where animals are protected. The owner should be in prison.

Noted. Thanks Cher. Yes, Aero, there are many money scams on the internet as also many deserving causes. It is not always easy to differentiate between the Real and the UnReal. I follow my gut, mostly and have never had my money go to a 'bad' issue - touch wood.

What is extraordinary is why does it take people so long before alarm bells start ringing? Is it because we live so fast and furious that we no longer have time to see our neighbours?

When I lived in the Hogsback mountains here in South Africa, we all knew each other, we all cared, we all helped. I inherited an ancient horse on the property I lived on. Built a shelter for her and spent lots of cash getting feed (it was winter at the time and no feed around). And I made sure the pump worked - to auto fill a bath I commandeered somewhere. It was my first horsey I ever 'owned' and was quite an experience.

And yes, the owner of the horses at 3-Strikes should be in jail.

Watching this unfold over the years, from here in Canada, I have seen the pattern that 'de-regulation' and direct (anti-constitutional) influence from the previous 'administration', has created. Judges guilty of sending hundreds of teens to private prisons to get 2.6 million in kick-backs, BLM becoming a equine killing machine: they haze them, exhausting some, killing others; then sell them for slaughter or pay individuals to 'take care' of them, by the 10's of thousands. How many hundreds more have died in the "care" of these 'providers'? They should be free, but aren't because Cattle Barons want YOUR public ranges for their cattle. Half of the last truly wild herd of Buffalo have been slaughtered by BLM and ? in or near Yellowstone. BACK TO THE 1800's!!!! Hopefully your new President and his new adminstration will stop this. Hopefully there will be enough pressure on MY government (mini-Bush) to stop the indescribably horrible slaughter of seals every year, inspite of lack of market. (easy way out to get votes and to placate fisherman who can't fish because there ARE no more fish. After the Seal Hunt, they can collect Unemployment for the rest of the year - on taxpayers backs.... and then there is Sarah Palin and her Wolf Slaughter (which is technically illegal according to your own federal laws. Now she is going to use poison gas to kill the pups. God help Creation from humans.

This man and any other person that does this to our creatures needs to be imprisoned indefinitely! This person is truly sick and should not be allowed the same freedom and rights that people who take care of life have. Any harm done towards god's creatures should be completely outlawed, just as crime against humans is. Suffering is lnot imited to one part of life and the voiceless suffer most...
