Tropicana Orange Juice needs to use Omega-3 fatty acids from plant-based foods, rather than something that kills more fish and adds to the destructions of our oceans.

I say.....switch to another kind of OJ....not that I agree or disagree with this petition, but I do have a daughter that NEEDS fish oil, and lots of the Omega-3 fish oil for a condition daily. I "would" let her have this OJ, but with all kinds of supplements, check them out first with your doctor.

Promote the Products that Do What You Wish.
it is Alot Better to Promote;
than to Tear Down The Foods that May serve others needs;
Without Offering a Safe, Non Cruel substitute...
Positve Activism Seeks to Solve Problems;
NOT to Ruin BIZ's that are Trying to Save lives,
By using Fish,
that Should be Protected from overFishing;
But are a Part of Most Countries Diet......
A BoyCott is Much easier to Organise and Promote;
if You also PROMOTE a Viable Alternative..

Fish oil shouldn't be an ingredient in orange juice, that doesn't match.

keep it pure keep it fresh.... perhaps if the fish oils are derived from "green sources" that would be okay... wouldn't want to know there is something fishy going on in my juice.

I have done some research into this and the Fish Oil source they use is a sustainable source that comes from the waters of Peru. It uses Anchovy which has been sustainable for 50 years and has a maturation cycle of 9 months . This is a large biomass that has ample supply so I agree with Peace Love Earth and continueing to try to increase the levels of EPA and DHA in my children. Great job Tropicana for recognizing this need in our diet and taking the lead on fish oil fortification.

I just got this responce from Tropicana:

Jamie:

We're sorry that the presence of fish oil in Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice Healthy Heart is a concern for you. Fish based Omega-3's are the only Omega-3's that are approved in order for us to use the FDA's qualified heart health claim.

Nevertheless, we'll let our marketing teams know you'd like us to avoid its use and use flax seed oil instead. You'll be happy to know none of our other varieties use fish oil.

Thank you, Jamie, for letting us know how we can best meet your needs.

Jeff
Tropicana Consumer Relations

Sounds like the FDA needs a little nudge to allow Flax Seed Omega Three to be used... they are the highest consentration of Omega 3's.
