"The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as now they look upon the murder of men."
~Leonardo da Vinci 1452-1519, Italian painter, sculptor, architect, musician, engineer, and scientist

“If you agree that a dog or cat (or a chimpanzee or lion or gorilla) is significantly different than a book or a car of your shoes, then the notion that they should be treated differently in the eyes of the law is common sense. That animals see, hear, breathe and feel is undisputed – books, cars and shoes do not. The idea of guardianship versus ownership flows naturally from the distinction and simply recognizes it as a legal principle.”
~Bruce Wagman Co-Author, Animal Law

"The day may come when the rest of the animal creation may acquire those rights which never could have been withheld from them but by the hand of tyranny … a full-grown horse or dog is beyond comparison a more rational, as well as a more conversable animal, than an infant of a day, or a week, or even a month old. But suppose the case were otherwise, what would it avail? The question is not Can they reason? Nor, Can they talk? But Can they suffer? Why should the law refuse its protection to any sensitive being? The time will come when humanity will extend its mantle over everything which breathes…
~Jeremy Bentham, 1748-1832 Principle of Morals and Legislation

At least he got a jail sentence,i'm not sure that he'll think differently after it about dogs and having the "pleasure" to "train" them just like he likes it,it's a shame what some humans think they are allowed to do with other creatures on earth!

SOON IN a CAGE AT LEAST WITH 2 DOGS SO THAT IT AT LEAST SEES AS IT FEELS SOON AND FOR the JAIL, nonHOSPITAL BY 2 DAYS SO THAT FOR The ANIMAL HAVE NOT BEEN RESPECTED THAT IS MY OPINION

i only have one thing to say , SATIN WORKS OVETIME the people who breed these poor animals and the ones who buy them for the fighting , are a product of hell . the people should be put in jail with a type of person who will do the same to them.

He gets four months, he will just wait it out and laugh it off and maybe even brag about how tough he is for having been in jail, I suppose, though it is at least a firm sentence. He is banned from owning dogs for life, very good (but how will this be enforced, please? will here be someone shadowing him night and day? what's to stop him from having new dogs under other perople's names?) And what about the money he made off these poor dogs? Dogfighting is big money or people just would not do it! These are the kind of people who raise dogs that give family pets like "Stu" and "Bruce" and the other innocent ones a bad name, and who is really being punished in the end, think about it. Hit the creep ocean deep in the pocket! Fine the h... out of him! and use the money to rehabilitate sheltered fight dogs, it would be used wisely then. Thank you for the post, Cher.
