Does Sarah Palin understand global warming, why it's happening, and how to slow it down? In the wake of her opinion piece in today's edition of The Washington Post, in which she rehashes several false arguments against carbon cap and trade, as well as

Art Brodsky: How Much More Pathetic Can the Washington Post Get? Sarah Palin
What possible justification on Earth is there for the Post to publish Sarah Palin on its op-ed page ? She has no authority to write an article like today's piece on cap-and-trade.

Thanks, Cher, Blue, David for these articles. Actually, as disappointed as I am with the Washington Post, I for one don't mind if Sarah Palin continues to indulge in her pastime of wallowing in ridicule (that's her choice and for her political partners to make do with if they can) - provided we continue to have good op-eds like the ones posted here to put the finger on it as such and make sure the readers see it that way.

Why is she getting media space and why is the Wash Post giving it to her?
particularly when this past June:

The WaPo's Best Blogger Fired

http://www.politico.com/blogs/michaelcalderone/0609/Froomkin_out_at_Washington_Post.html?showall -- Froomkin out at Washington Post (UPDATED) : POLITICO learned today that the Washington Post has terminated its relationship with liberal columnist/blogger Dan Froomkin. Froomkin authored the "White House Watch" blog (link) ...

...Froomkin was a frequent target of the right (link), but the left welcomed his voice within the Washington Post's umbrella and Froomkin said that his mission was to "watch the White House like a hawk." (link)

...Many Froomkin fans took to the blogosphere to denounce the decision (excerpts and links follow for each blog cited, more than I'm showing here):

The WaPo's Best Blogger Is Fired
A simply astounding move by the paper - getting rid of the one blogger, Dan Froomkin, who kept it real and kept it interesting. Dan's work on torture may be one reason he is now gone. The way in which the WaPo has been coopted by the neocon right, especially in its editorial pages, is getting more and more disturbing. This purge will prompt a real revolt in the blogosphere. And it should.
From Andrew Sullivan at The Daily Dishhttp://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/06/the-wapos-best-blogger-is-fired.html

Gawker: "The Washington Post, which pays money to opinion writers such as Bill Kristol (smarmy) and Richard Cohen (smarmier), has fired blogger Dan Froomkin, one of the only WaPo opinion writers who pointed out that the Bush White House was crooked."

The snark kings at Wonkette protested as well: "Everyone give it up for your capital city’s hometown newspaper, the very liberal Washington Post, which has abruptly fired its only liberal pundit, Dan Froomkin, who in past years did more than the rest of the Post op-ed staff combined to show how our beloved leaders George W. Bush and Richard 'Dick' Cheney were careless law-breaking criminals from Hell."

Salon's Glenn Greenwald echoed Sullivan's praise of Froomkin (The Washington Post fires its best columnist. Why?) and said: "All of this underscores a critical and oft-overlooked point: what one finds virtually nowhere in the establishment press are those who criticize Obama not in order to advance their tawdry right-wing agenda but because the principles that led them to criticize Bush compel similar criticism of Obama. Rachel Maddow is one of the few prominent media figures who will interview and criticize Democratic politicians 'from the Left' (and it's hardly a coincidence that it was MSNBC's decision to give Maddow her own show -- rather than the endless array of right-wing talk show hosts plaguing television for years -- which prompted a tidal wave of 'concern' over whether cable news was becoming 'too partisan'). In general, however, those who opine from the Maddow/Froomkin perspective are a very endangered species, and it just became more endangered as the Post fires one if its most popular, talented, principled and substantive columnists.

In addition to his Rupert Murdoch perch at Fox, Krauthammer remains as a regular columnist at the Post, alongside fellow right-wing Obama haters such as Bill Kristol, George Will, Jim Hoagland, Michael Gerson and Robert Kagan -- as well as a whole bevy of typical, banal establishment spokespeople who are highly supportive of whatever the permanent Washington establishment favors (David Ignatius, Fred Hiatt, Ruth Marcus, David Broder, Richard Cohen, Howie Kurtz, etc. etc.). And that's to say nothing of the regular Op-Ed appearances by typical Krauthammer-mimicking neoconservative voices such as John Bolton, Joe Lieberman, and Douglas Feith -- and the Post Editorial Page itself."

But you see, Palin MUST deny global warming. If she were to agree that there is global warming, she would be admitting that there are environmental problems. One indication of environmental problems is the destruction of wildlife--and Sarah loves to kill wildlife. Another cause of environmental problems is human population growth--and Sarah had five babies. There is no way she could have taken a responsible position on global warming or on any other aspect of environmental protection.

I don't see how any intelligent human being can hear or read anything other than "blah blah blah, wonk wonk wonk, blah blah blah" when Palin opens up her pie hole. The only thing she has stood for is the killing of innocent, endangered animals! SHAME ON YOU SARAH PALIN!!!!!
