Good news, yes, a step in the right direction, but only preliminary - "The final decision from the service is due in early 2010." That means they could still give it away quietly when nobody's looking anymore, because they let us think it was safe...
Please stay vigilant & keep watching this issue for how the F&W Service follows through. We know how well they are "managing" the wolves.....
Thanks Cher, noted.

"Young people" (ones under 65) will have to keep a close eye on this. Look to the environmental and animal orgs to keep you up to date. You, your kids and grandkids are the ones who will suffer if oil buys, blackmails & bribes enough agencies to look the other way. We Senior Citizens are getting tired and can't keep up with everything. So, you 'youngsters' keep watch and sound the alarm if things start going sour.

Excellent , we must keep protecting what is left until everyone realizes the importance and our interdependence on the environment and acts accordingly(mis-information will stop soon))). Protect, protect, protect, FEEL your hearts call and run with it NOW. Thx Cher.

It would be wise to leave ALL of Alaska alone, environmentally speaking . The environment and animals are sending that message now up there, i hope they are heeded......the messages will get more severe......if need be.

Cher...All I can say is "I HOPE SO!!!" So much damage has been done already it is so horrible. The Alaska State and it's animals, environment will never recover. This may be wonderful, if, it in fact, goes through, but with these big OIL Lobbiest, etc, who knows how long before they once again attack Alaska for their own GREED. Alaska has suffered so much and has had so much taken away from that State, I personally want to know, could it ever recover...not to the point I would like.... I would love to think so, but, I think we have inflicted to much damage on that BEAUTIFUL ACT OF NATURE, the destruction that we have created may just be to much. Want some terrific news for that State of Alaska for all of the abuse it has gone through, loss of glacers, loss of animal life etc. etc. Hope this is a WIN WIN.....People need to be more aware and not just a few of us...it needs to be taken to the courts for this to totally stop. We have done a total injustice on the State of Alaska for so long and so much has gone on it is sick, no more to the BIG BROTHER, BIG BUSINESS, more for animals, environment, etc. etc. You can only treat YOUR MOTHER EARTH SO BADLY and once you have distroyed her...where is all of the GREED and BIG OIL COMPANIES going to go, YEP, another State...do we have any STATES left to distroy left???

A wildlife refuge is just that a refuge. The very word should indicate to any moron that it cannot be touched. I'm sorry, I forgot we were talking about the sub-moron, Sarah Palin.

Nora, the fact that Palin and her cohorts 'brings out the worst' in you says a lot about your common sense and character. There ARE things we shouldn't tolerate! Destroying the Web of Life to the point that the environment and inter-dependant species collapse must be high on the list!

Nora, Palin brings out something in a lot of us, mostly of the negative type. I've still never figured out how she so thoroughly snowed (pun intended) Alaska to become their governor. When the overt acts of this woman can make a teenage girl detest her, you gotta know there's something wrong with her. My granddaughter ask me periodlically about what she's doing and is estactic when I tell her Palin is going on merry way to nowhere.

We need to keep our wildlife parks and refuges clean and free of pollutants of drilling, drilling drilling, like Palin would like. Don't count her out though, because I have the awful feeling she's going to show up when we least expect her.

Now where and who had that great idea for buttons on here some months ago. Maybe we should give the idea another look?!

Lyn
