I'm with the No responders, but like to add that pitbull ownership should be monitored as certain unsavery types of people get these dogs for the wrong reasons, i.e. Michael Vick. These dogs are very sweet really and make good family pets with the right upbringing and kind, responsible ownership.

A mother Staffordshire & her son (who was returned after being sold) lived across the road from me .They both showed signs of an unstable personality & eventually attacked a small dog & also turned on their owner who was trying to rescue the small dog being attacked. He had them both put down that same day. All of us neighbours were quite relieved that they were out of the way. Must have had some bad breeding genes there I guess. Here in OZ there have been countless attacks involving pit bull breeds.

I think most know how I feel about pitts/staffordshires etc...I love them. But you have to be responible too. But I be damned if someone would put mine down (Mine are not full blood but)...I will fight tooth and nail for them both.

I must add that we felt very sad & emotional about the dogs & their owners & later they purchased an American bulldog that had the most beautiful nature & won over every neighbour around.

Thing is Shirley with proper training those dogs could have made a total 360 I personally have seen it...It is a shame when people are so scared of dogs such as these. I mean people are actually trying to eraticate the breed...not right, not right at all. Do understand I understand you and your neighbors concerns, but I think something else should have been done in this situation...

I oppose pit bulls in these two Florida counties. This area of the US has many dog fighting rings.

my dad owned pitbulls all his life. hes had good ones and hes had bad ones. some of those dogs have very strong personalities and once they get theirs there is no changing it. if my dad was alive today he'd tell you so his self. you said your dogs weren't full bloodied correct g.c? mine are full bloodied and my dads were as well. you need to own them as pups and train them and they are hardheaded and you have to be patient. a grown one you adopt are very unpredictable. shirley i know where your coming from. like i said before mine are full bloodied pitbull dogs had them since they were tiny babies and they might as well be kittens. as far as banning them i am against that. but not everybody should have. most are in shelters now cause they are just not what the owner wanted wheather they are too aggressive or not aggressive enough.
