The Great Eastern Diamondback Rattle snake is an apex predator. A whole ecosystem handles in the balance should they be faced with extinction. Thank you Cher for this story. Something I would rather not here, but recognize the necessity of nowing.

Great, these fools will kill the rattle snakes and then bellyache when they are overrun with rats. Egypt killed the pigs to prevent swine flu (yes, really for that reason!!) which didn't help swine flu but did cause major problems with garbage piling up in the streets. And remember the dark ages when people in Europe killed cats based on superstitions and then were overrun with rats - rats carrying the plague? Now we're going through this again because these yuk-yuks want to go on killing sprees? What the heck? Could we have some adults in charge please? PLEASE?
