Please visit site...I am totally upset!!!

Are they totally Nuts???? These Polar Bears need protection from everything, they are losing their young from the habitat, so much loss, and now this?

Frankly, this really makes me a cranky person! They better protect this special creature before it is gone, and they say OOPS. Upsetting to me.

Thanks Cher. But, sadly I was so upset to read this. Good to know, can we do anything about this? Please advise.

Indigenous peoples have always lived on the land ... hunting for survival. Now the survival of the polar bears depends on more than a quota... easier said than done perhaps because of the strong sentiments by the very people whose life and culture revolves around the polar bears and certainly seals as well.
The following statement which I quote from this article is important given that if there is a moratorium placed on the hunting/killing of polar bears then the community should receive compensation.

"The wildlife board is paying to bring in a hunter and an elder from each of the three communities that hunt for polar bears in Baffin Bay: Pond Inlet, Clyde River and Qikiqtarjuaq."

It seems that now is the time to show our respect for the great ones who have given their lives over and over again by allowing them, the polar bears, to repopulate as much as possible and hopefully do so before climate change and global warming completely wipe them out as a species.

Time to send prayers . . . . . . .

I agree with Marilyn above we should be protecting these bears not still hunting them. This is outrageous!

The Inuit people have always hunted whales seals & polar bears for their survival. I've seen documentaries on this & they don't waste any part of the animal. That being said yes there has to be a quota & I hope it can be met.
