Bears becoming more prevalent in our urban settings eh? More like urban settings becoming more prevalent in bear territory!

Seriously, if we encroach on their traditional stomping grounds this much, we cannot be surprised when bears come into contact with humans more and more often.

From this article and some of the related ones, it appears that very few locals are doing what they should be doing to prevent these wandering bruins; using bear-proof rubbish disposal or at the very least covering their trash cans with strong bungee cords.

I'm afraid to say South Floridians have no-one but themselves to blame when they refuse to do what has been proven to work in similar incidents...

When there are too many black bears, they get killed. When there are too many people, the black bears also get killed. We are taking up their space, what should they do?

What a sad state these poot bears have with all the encroachment. I hope they are left alone and survive the urban people!
