Animal Activist Refuses to Let Bow-Hunter Retrieve Deer

After mortally wounding a deer, he tracked it -- as responsible hunters should -- until it collapsed and died. Realizing the animal had ended up on someone's private property, he went to the door to ask permission to retrieve the buck.

Yep, gorilly girl, here's the bummer -
So the carcass remains in the Gorfinkles' yard, where it has been since Oct. 2. Lynn hopes that other animals will eat it because it is too big to bury. "If someone's going to eat that deer, I want it to be natural predators, not some hunter," she said.

Her actions, meanwhile, may mean the death of another deer. "Since the hunter did not recover the deer, he did not need to tag it and it doesn't count toward his bag limit," Dennis Schain told Outposts.

some flesh eaters need wild game meat to feed their families for winter -i can't judge them or force them to go vegan -most consume less flesh than those who buy it in a pretty package. we are omnivores -i may not eat it out of personal choice -but those who do kill their own for food usually have a lot more respect towards the circle of life. what's the sense in another death? there isn't...we'll never recruit through war we'll make enemies.

And the sting in the tail bureaucratic nonsense, the kill does count toward the hunters total because it was not tagged! I don't know which is more disgusting the act of killing animal or the bureaucracy that legitimises it or in this case negates the kill from the total!

Chris you are correct most hunters would count the deer in their total limit no matter if they were required to by law or not. However in Connecticut, depending where you are and what method you use, a hunter can take 8 or more deer in a season. The archery limit is 4 in most areas. Most do not take more than one or two for food.

have any of you watched a deer or many starve to death in the winter from over population? it was the most horrific thing i ever saw one winter in wisconsin about 10-12 years ago. the following year they upped the count for hunters. personally i would rather be shot than starved to death. the worst of cruelty also comes from the activists in some situations.

Humans ARE natural predators of deer.

What a stupid story. The deer should have been buried or cut up for meat to give away to others. Leaving it to rot because of some misinterpretation of the concept of "animal rights" is just a disgrace.

If the animals rights people do not wise up and get rid of the loons among themselves, they will destroy their own movement.

facts are only these. one dead deer. killed. there are many many more in jeopordy, not just one. many will be killed just for trophys, antlers hung on a wall. i dont know. i see nothing intellegent, or natural about any of this.

If people are going to take a deer for food or for some other people they know will eat it for food but, here north of Raliegh nc they found a huge mound of nothing but headless deer, stupid stinking morans!! Here in North Carolina thats all they talk about and want is the big one, And yes I do some racking off when I see trucks on the side of the rode with dog boxes on them for I know its deer dogs. I also know that if they hear a gun go off they will stop for they think they got it. a 9mm speaks quite loud expecilly wide open close to a lake and woods. I like it too for the tree's are turning all kinds of color here now. Thanks Cher
